limerick about mary malone

JULY 13, 1993

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,

Please accept this letter as a testament of the extraordinary ability of Mary Malone.

My name is John van Zante. I am the Program Director of radio station KCEO in Carlsbad, San Diego, California. I have 20 years of experience in the field of radio. The past 7½ year have been with KCEO.

As Program Director of KCEO, I have been ableto improve the ratings of the station threefold and more than double the billingofthe station.

I met Mary Malone when she cameinto the station as a guest on 'The Pheonix Phyre Radio Show'. I had heardof Mary, but had never met her before that time.I was quite skeptical.

By the time Mary had been on the air 10 minutes, all of our telephone lines were filled with callers. She was remarkable in her ability to describe to listeners what they called aboutand what she saw for them.

I wanted to believe that the calls were from 'plants'... but with the entire phone bank filled it would have been impossible to have each caller prearranged.

My most memorable story about Mary involves a caller thqtmadeMary blush. I looked across the control board and saw her face begin to turn red. Marypolitely asked the caller if she hadjust taken a shower. The caller indicated that she had.Mary asked herif she couldplease cover herself with a robe or a towel. The caller burst into laughter, then informed the radio audience that she was, indeed naked.

I have neverseen anyone with the extent of Mary's abilities.

Yours truly,

JOHN VAN ZANTE
KCEO PROGRAM DIRECTOR
